DHK began as the Boston branch of a New York firm in 1978 and incorporated as a locally owned company in 1985. From its inception, DHK was associated with major transportation infrastructure projects including the historic preservation and reconstruction of South Station and the new Southwest Corridor Orange Line in Boston. In the following decades, DHK completed transportation assignments in Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and San Juan, PR.
DHK’s dedication to affordable housing began with work in Boston’s minority neighborhoods and with local housing authorities in Massachusetts cities and towns. Over the years, DHK has prepared master plans and designed new and rehabilitated housing for communities in New England, New York, the Midwest and Puerto Rico.
