Description

The Saint Elizabeth's East development project will produce roughly 500,000 sq ft of education/university space, 200,000 sq ft of retail space, 2,000 residential housing units, and over 1.5M sq ft of office space. Part of the vision is to house over 14,000 employees over a 10 year period at the site. The thought is that the natural demands of the workforce should enhance the retail prospects for the campus. 

In addition to the real estate development, the DC Department of Transportation and the Department of Planning & Economic Development will work to provided proper infrastructure for access to and from the area (e.g., reconstructing roadways, increase transportation connections). In June of 2012 the DC Council approved a $113.5 million budget for infrastructure improvements. 

The first phase of the St. Elizabeth's East project is set to be delivered in 2015. Davis Brody Bond, Kadcon, and  Robert Silman Associates are working on constructing the St. Elizabeth Gateway Pavilion at 1100 Alabama Avenue, SE. 

The Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, and GSA will use the West Campus as a Headquarters. Based on the development plans, the first building for the West Campus, the US Coast Guard Headquarters is scheduled to be delivered in 2013.
